Virtual Instruments
Daystar has a wide variety of VSTi’s (Virtual Studio Technology Instruments – a technology introduced by Steinberg) installed on its recording computer. These afford the capability to emulate existing physical instruments such as pianos, electric pianos, organs, orchestral instruments, guitars, basses, drums, percussion, synthesizers, ethnic instruments and special effects, as well as those which have no counterpart in the real world but only exist in the mind of the composer. These are very useful in composing and arranging via MIDI.
Effects
Many different types of VST effects are also available such as reverbs, compressors, limiters, filters, equalizers, distortion, gates, modulation effects (flanging, phasing, chorusing, tremolo, vibrato), echo / delay, pitch correction, stereo processing, etc…
